G20 (2025)
Episode 7 is where everything breaks. The plans fail, the monster strikes back harder than ever, and the cost of fighting the Upside Down becomes painfully personal.
After escaping the hospital, the group regroups at Hopper’s cabin. Eleven is weak and powerless, still shaken by losing her abilities. For the first time since she arrived in Hawkins, she can’t protect anyone.
Everyone knows the Mind Flayer is coming.
They don’t know when. They don’t know how.
They only know it won’t stop.
Billy arrives at the cabin alone, pretending to be hurt and confused. At first, he seems human again. Max, desperate to believe her brother is still there, lowers her guard.
It’s a trap.
The Mind Flayer uses Billy to lure them in. Once inside, it attacks with overwhelming force, smashing through the cabin and tearing it apart. The group barely escapes, running for their lives as the creature pursues them through the woods.
This moment confirms something terrifying.
The Mind Flayer isn’t hunting randomly anymore.
It’s targeting them.
During the chase, Eleven falls behind. The Mind Flayer catches her and slams her into a car. A piece of the creature bites into her leg, seriously injuring her.
With no powers to fight back, Eleven is completely helpless.
Mike and the others manage to distract the monster long enough to save her, but the damage is done. Eleven is badly hurt, and her condition continues to worsen.
The group finally understands how serious the situation has become.
They can lose.
Realizing they can’t fight the Mind Flayer directly, the group shifts focus. Hopper is still missing, and the Russian base beneath Starcourt Mall must be destroyed. If they can shut down the machine reopening the gate, the Mind Flayer will weaken.
The plan now has two goals:
Time is running out.
In a brief but important moment, Billy shows signs of resistance. When Eleven earlier confronted him with memories of his past, it planted doubt inside him. The Mind Flayer’s control isn’t absolute.
Billy is still in there.
This hint matters more than it seems.
Episode 7 pushes the story to its breaking point.
This episode strips away confidence and hope. The heroes are injured, divided, and outmatched.
By the end of “The Bite,” the situation is clear.
They can’t win by fighting the monster.
They can only win by ending what keeps it alive.
And the final battle is about to begin.
