G20 (2025)
Episode 4 focuses on truth versus lies. While the town accepts what it’s told, a few characters begin to see the reality hiding underneath.
Hawkins gathers for Will Byers’ funeral. The town mourns. His friends stand silently, confused and heartbroken.
The body in the coffin looks like Will, but something feels wrong. Mike, Dustin, and Lucas can’t bring themselves to believe their friend is truly gone.
Joyce, on the other hand, is furious. She knows the body is fake. To her, the funeral feels like a cruel performance designed to erase her son.
Chief Hopper secretly breaks into Hawkins Lab at night. What he discovers confirms his worst fears.
Beneath the lab is a hidden tunnel system, pulsing with strange organic matter. The walls look alive, as if something from another world has grown into our own.
Before Hopper can fully explore, he’s caught by lab security. Instead of arresting him publicly, the lab locks him inside, revealing just how much power they have.
At school, Eleven experiences normal life for the first time—and it goes badly. She doesn’t understand social behavior and becomes the target of bullies.
When one of them cruelly mocks Will and pushes her too far, Eleven snaps.
Using her powers, she violently injures the bully, breaking his arm.
This moment shows two things clearly: Eleven’s powers are dangerous, and she doesn’t yet know how to control them emotionally.
Mike and Dustin are terrified. Lucas becomes openly afraid of Eleven, questioning whether she’s really a friend or something else entirely.
The boys ask Eleven directly whether Will is alive. She hesitates, then finally shakes her head “no.”
But later, it’s revealed that she lied—not because Will is dead, but because she’s scared. She knows something terrible is hunting him.
Eleven’s silence creates tension within the group and begins to fracture their friendship.
Joyce tries to retrieve Will’s body from the morgue. She demands proof.
When she’s left alone with the body, she notices it doesn’t behave like a real corpse. She presses its face and realizes it’s artificial.
Her reaction is explosive. Joyce is no longer just grieving—she’s fighting the lie being forced on her.
Episode 4 draws a sharp line between illusion and reality.
This episode marks a turning point. The truth is no longer hidden—it’s being actively suppressed.
By the end of The Body, one thing is certain.
The real danger isn’t just the monster in the other world.
It’s the people in this one who are willing to lie to protect it.
